Multi-Navigator
The water resistant Multi-Navigator incorporates the True Magnetic Compass,
an internal digital compass that adjusts for local declination and continues to
show the true compass course during navigation. The compass function works
independently of the GPS function, allowing you to navigate without the assis-
tance of satellites and update your position when needed, giving you weeks worth
of battery power rather than hours.
The ”One-Button-GPS” home function is truly what makes the Multi-Navigator
stand apart from other GPS units on the market. This function allows you to
access a direct bearing back to your start position. This unique feature can be
especially useful in an emergency situation as it provides an immediate bearing
to ”home and safety”.
The calibrated internal altimeter reads the elevation based on atmospheric pres-
sure, not satellite readings. This will give you an accuracy of +/- 1m, where other
GPS units are capable of detecting altitude with an accuracy of +/- 30m. This fea-
ture can be an invaluable aid when you are in the mountains, in foul weather, and
for pinpointing your exact position on a topographic map.
The Multi-Navigator™ provides the barometric pressures over the past 36 hours
and the current pressure. Based upon this it will give you a forecast for the next
12 hours on the easy-to-read LCD screen in Sunny, Partly Cloudy, Cloudy, Rainy
and Stormy connotations.
